leed for homes |
LEED for HOMES is a rating program developed by the U. S. Green Building Council to evaluate objectively environmental issues. These include: LOCATION AND LINKAGES: Where you develop your home has a major impact on the environment and how people live. SUSTAINABLE SITES: If you develop your site with sensitivity, you can "do no harm" to the environment, and maybe even help restoration efforts. WATER EFFICIENCY: Our water is limited, if renewable, Use it conservatively and protect its purity. ENERGY AND ATMOSPHERE: Use as little as possible and leave a healthy earth for future generations. MATERIALS and RESOURCES: Learn where things come from and the resources needed to deliver them. ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY: Create a healthy environment for you and your loved ones. AWARENESS and EDUCATION: Analyze, record, and share your experiences. |
